An aside...

The blog seems to be getting out of hand.

We get a couple of hits, some superficial interest from Congress and Federal law enforcement, Ryan learns how to put all this CRAP up on the margin... and suddenly we are considering AD SALES?

Someones narcissism is getting out of hand.

Oh, and the poll at right? Why could someone think that the crisis in Burma is of "national interest" and not also think it was outside of the scope of "national security"? Isn't that a misleading poll question?

Calm down little Ms. Tuffet, I didn't mean to piss in your kurds and whey. I AM afterall the resident conservative so you'll forgive me if my natural capitalistic instincts kicked in and I asked if we should take a look at the "Ad Sense" blog revenue generator. I didn't suggest we go out and make predatory home loans to the blind for goodness sake! Just caught my eye, that's all. What harm would there be if we happen to get paid for something we love doing anyway? It wasn't an official proposal and I was only half serious. And I like my "crap" on the margins. Have a smoke and a Guiness and chill out, you "blog purist" soul you ... he he.

Oh, and the poll I set up. "Yes", one can think, if they choose, that it IS pertinent to US national interests AND think that "interest" does not involve national security issues. Although I'd like an explanation for that.

I didn't intend to mislead, but rather spawn a bit of research/interest into what's going on there by asking the question. In fact that's precisely what the question did for me as I put it up prior to researching how startegically valuable the Burmese ports are to China. It gives them access to the Indian Ocean AND they have been selling arms to the current Burmese govt whom has turned around and sold them (as they are in desperate need for cash) to any nefarious figure with the 'dough" on the black market. Perhaps a even a Jihadist figure. Presumably if that regime is replaced, in a domestic coup, with a democratic one then such sales will cease and thus enhance our national security.

Now - if you want to exclude national security from your insistance that it is still pertinent to our interests, and do so by claiming that despotic regimes in general are something we should discourage, then fine, I'm ok with that, it's just a little "general" in scope for Bund arguments if you ask me.

I wasn't upset... just thought it was too amusing to pass up the chance at some sarcasm.

If you and James think its a good idea... go for it. I just don't want it to detract from the effort.
