Mississippi Comes Out on Top?

This from Badboy...

In the most recent Sunday edition of the Sun Herald, which is the local news paper for the Mississippi Gulf Coast there was an article stating that Mississippi has received more federal funding for Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts than Louisiana and that Louisiana isn’t real happy about it. We all know that this story is over 2 years old already and it’s like beating a dead horse but I thought the discussion about the political situation within the two states and the implication that moneys received by the states is politically motivated would be a great topic of debate. I am putting the link to the article in this post and will reserve my own personal commentary until I have read yours.

Comment? How's this?

I lost a reported (via the IRS) total of $57,000 in non-recoverable, uninsured property losses during Katrina. I was unemployed for nearly a year.

To date, I have received a grand total of $0.00 in grants, aide, assistance or loans from the Federal Government.

Hell, I couldn't even get the frigging $300 from the Red Cross! Sons of bitches, one and all!

The ONLY help I got from the Feds was when 3 Georgia NAtional Guardsmen helped me haul my furniture to the street because it was still so wet it was too heavy to move alone... and it was starting to stink to high heaven (if anyone doubts this, ask Jambo... it made him puke!).

So, my no-FEMA money, no-FEMA trailer, no-FEMA assistance at all ASS doesn't give a rip WHICH State got more... all I know is that there are literally THOUSANDS of people that got CASH in their pockets and trailers in their lawns and didn't have an inch of water in their houses.

Bitter, yes, I am.

I didn't yak over your stinky ass furniture. It was when we pulled the appliances out, the washer-dryer and that freaking dishwasher... Oh man that was the worst. That made me yak. Your furniture? No big deal.

And lets not forget the stove that still had live 220 running through it while we were ankle deep in salt water. How did we survive?

I didn't receive any monetary assistance either. As you recall, we had to roll or take out our 401k. Since this was a natural disaster, no penalties would occur. Which I currently owe the IRS thousands in penalties and by the way they double taxed me. PRICKS!

I know of no less than 10 people who's homes had no damage and no water. They had money coming out of their asses! Why? They were out of state and stated they couldn't get home. Anyway, being the bitch that I am, I reported 2 of them (ex-husband and his then girlfriend) and jeez, they don't understand why they had to pay back the 8k combined that they received.

T.. it was your fridge. I got there just as you guys were walking back in the house.

Ms B. along with a bunch of others ask about you often. You need a MySpace page to keep up.

Love you baby boy..........L
