There there chicken little, it'll be alright.

"I have NEVER debated or doubted the simple fact that mankind has MORE than enough technology under his belt to alter the climate of the globe… very nearly at will and almost instantly."
Haaaaaaa! What Gene Rodenberry book are you reading? WHO says this, from where? What are their credentials?

And listen, say we could push all the nuke buttons and change the climate, so what? The current debate isn't whether if we launched all the nukes in the world simultaneously would man be responsible for climate change. No sir, the debate is whether our indusrialization is altering the climate, and I believe that for humans to believe that in less than 150 years of said industrialization that we can alter the GLOBAL CLIMATE of a planet millions of years old is laughable and the stuff of Star Wars.

And on the nukes - do you really think we have a death Star with a weapon capable of evaporating an entire planet? Give me a break. Launch em' all, and we'll kill billions of people and crops for millions of years, but "destroy" a planet? Please, use the force to search your feelings, you can't possibly believe such nonsense.

And by the way, the ozone will repair itself, as the earth has done for millions of years in EVERY instance.

The truth is that more and more scientists are agreeing that we are emerging from a mini ice age and are warming up as part of a cyclical event related to sunspot activity. Those natural events will not be swayed by smog, Hummers or Auquanet users - sorry to tell ya. And to say otherwise just sounds profoundly silly.
