This guy is a whacko... pure and simple.
However, he has managed to do something almost no one else has been able to do in the last four years... unite Democrat and Republican, liberal and conservative, in their efforts to get him to NOT burn the Qur'an in a rally on 9/11 of this year.
He has a congregation of maybe 50 people, who meet in a church stuck in the pine trees outside of Gainseville, FL and he preaches hate and intollerance as the meat-and-potatoes of his Sunday services. He tells people Islam is "of the devil" and that Christians must unite to defeat it, both here in the US and around the world.
Equating mainstream Islam with "Satanism" does nothing to promote understanding or dialogue, and while I think the man has the right to say what he wants... his actions are going to cost lives, if he follows through with his intended burning.
