DEF-KHAN V !!!

Woah, woah, woah! Stop everything. Forget the attempts to bring Fabian Socialism to our shores; set aside the devaluation of our currency; and drop all research into presidential report cards - we have a REAL problem to deal with: WHAT exactly do you not "get" about the new Star Trek movie?!

I, as our resident Trekker (we don't prefer the derogatory "trekkie"), am here to tell you that it's perhaps the best Star Trek since Wrath of Khan. First rate acting, good story line, well written, good action. Even my Lucas-disciple sons enjoyed this one. It's a prequel, and usually that bounds the film by what has come "before" (technically after - stay with me chief). But not in a world with Cochran Warp Drive and Worm Holes that can transport man back and forth through time! The casting for the young Spock was perhaps the best. Oh, and by the way, that entire scenario with old and young Spock was originally set up with William Shatner and his younger character. But, in typical diva form, Shatner couldn't come to terms with his compensation and the largess (or lack thereof) of his role in the film. So they figured hey, I'm sure Nimoy could use a pay day, and went in that direction. And SCOTTY, Sean of the Dead Scotty! HILARIOUS! There is an online movie review site (I forget the name), which apparently has become the new "standard" for reviews, as it averages all the major reviewers comments into a 1-10 ranking system, making it simple for the reader to gauge the worth wildness of spending their $11.50. The Godfather, Street Car Named Desire, these type of films are the only ones that ever get into the 9+ rating. Star Trek hit a respectable 8.9.

At any rate, should you need further clarification of the plot, etc, feel free to text me with your inquiries. And on the Klingon makeovers - there doesn't exist anything in the "canon" to account for their altered appearance. They simply wanted to beef up the Klingon image and make them look less Genghis Khan like in TNG (no need for the "S" prior to TNG, we all know what it is .... sheeeeesh ... hehe).

Now before I forget, a year or so ago I saw a film that is an absolute MUST for guys "roughly" our age (and I stress roughly regarding Titus), who grew up quoting Star Wars and the like: FAN BOYS. You will laugh your collective back sides off. An instant cult classic, you'll get all the 80's references and the "sci-fi nerd angst" (not that you or I, well, you know what I mean). It has some cameos by some big names too. You'll want to own it - get it IMMEDIATELY! That's an order ... ensign.
