So, I'm watching the O'Riley interview with Obama online and 2 minutes into the interview Bill says that "History will show that Iraq was the wrong battlefield" and that Obama was correct in his assessment of that fact from the beginning.
Is this O'Riley pandering to a celebrity-status figure like Obama, or has the opinion of the right actually begun to change that much? How many other "conservative" pundits and leaders are now going to begin to voice the same concerns that I was voicing back in Jan, Feb and early Mar of 2003? How many others are wondering NOW if Rummy was really, really wrong THEN?
I'm not saying that they are favoring a withdrawl... no "conservative" can, given the facts. However, anyone can look at the reasons we were given for the initial invasion and balance them against what we know now, and see they don't measure up. Anyone can see the methods and preparations taken prior to and immediately after the invasion now, and see that they were completely inadequate for a fast, secure and complete removal of both Ba'athist and sectarian threats within the country.
This is strictly an acedemic question... the rest of the interview made Obama look like an idiot.
