Well, I'm flat out impressed with the Center for the Study of War and Society. Your listing it as a doctorate program, might cause you undue problems. It is listed as such because the Center itself has a Doctorate Board that reviews applicants submitting thesis studies... but as long as the University will hear your thesis, in one department or another, the nature of the thesis is really up to you.
Obviously, it can't be too general in nature... but almost any in-depth study of political, social, economic or military history thesis can be heard by a Doctorate Board (or its equivalent) at any University or College that maintains one. USM has simply established the Center to provide the support and resources needed by those working in the more and more specialized field of political study.
And their resource base seems impressive indeed, judging by the website. I like this one... but you'll have to knock off your Masters first, and I'm assuming your still 3 or 4 years away from that, even. Or have you gotten your BS without any of us knowing it?
