On the PD post...

I can't cite Federal law (but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist), but in PA any State, county or municiple law enforcement officer MUST identify him/herself as such when responding to an emergency call (meaning a 911 call, I assume). If they are in civilian attire or "plain clothes", they must display their identification as law enforcement prominently (meaning physically and verbally).

I'd say that, without criticizing Biloxi's finest, those officers made an error in the manner in which they responded to a call. "You called us" is not an acceptable means of identification, I am sure.
