Let's talk "extraneous", okay?

Dude... you don't have to cut-and-paste old posts. Sheesh... if you absolutely feel we MUST see something you've previously posted, make a link or something, and save us some bandwidth.

I matched sarcasm with sarcasm, and I didn't take anything "personally"... but I do get frustrated and tired of your inability or unwillingness to counter points made in posts not of your own hand.

For example, I have heard the term "hold-over" now almost every day concerning the fact (FACT, mind you) that the unemployment rate is still artificially low and/or falling, even though the GDP and all other economic indicators are showing that we have turned the corner in regards to this recession. Of course, no Democrat or liberal is saying this, but the people who understand macro-economics are using it, and they are using it an awful lot right now.

Please explain to me WHY you refuse to see that if "hold-over" is a fact now, it must have been a fact in the 1930's, as well. If I can show you that the New Deal era (1933 to 1938) saw a faster and more vigorous climb in ALL economic indicators but unemployment, you continue to use unemployment as the PROOF that nothing in the New Deal worked. Why is that?

Please explain to me WHY you refuse to see that if the Italian campaign cannot be labeled as a failure because we WON THE WAR, how can you label everything in the New Deal as a failure when we BEAT THE DEPRESSION. Every indicator EXCEPT unemployment showed a rapidly growing and (in fact) larger economy in 1937 than we had in 1929... and ALL the recovery happened AFTER FDR was elected and the New Deal was in place... but because unemployment stayed high, everything else failed utterly and was a complete waste of effort and resources.

Well before the "stimulus act" became Law, we saw the recovery underway... which is WHY the Dems had to rush it through. They couldn't afford to have it scrutinized under a microscope and held up or shot down, and then have the economy recover ANYWAY... where would that leave all their "hopes and dreams"? In fact, as of last Friday, the only indicator NOT on the rise was unemployment... but following YOUR logic, the economy ISN'T recovering and the Dems are right, and something further needs to be done.

Am I wrong? Where am I not following your train of thought here?
