How's this for distressing?

I'm at work right now. The job is getting a bit hectic, with the new facility getting closer and closer to completion. My new position hasn't "officially" started yet, butI am taking on more nad more work as the days go by.

Anyway, I take a break to go "burn a gert" (smoke) and stop by the closest bathroom to lose some of the coffee I've been drinking all afternoon, and what do I find?

Propped up on all the urinals and next to each sink, little plain paper pamphlets about what "really" happened to the Jews in WWII.

These little booklets were about 6 pages long, and contained the most insidious lies and half-truths you could imagine concerning the Holocaust. All in very direct, proper language and with very impressive-sounding terminology... all geared to make the reader think that there was some kernel of truth in the revisionism they were propagating.

I refuse to even dignify the authors of this hate-filled propaganda by repeating even the most diseased of their rediculous words, or their names, or the names of the "organizations" they represent. Suffice to say that THIS is exactly the kind of stuff that the current President of Iran would consider Gospel... if he believed in anything that completely.

I bring this up because anyone that says that racism, revisionist history, or the most virulent blatant prejudice doesn't exist in America anymore either hasn't heard the Rev. Wright sound-bites or read these pamphlets.

I also bring this up because the pamphlet I read was using the "myth" of the Final Solution as evidence of what happens when a society like the USA allows the influence of a foreign race into its midst... and the race they are talking about now is Latinos. Not blacks, not Jews... Hispanics. THAT is why issues like illegal immigration and border security are national topics that must be handled with an eye to the 12 to 16% of LEGAL citizens in the nation that are Hispanic in origin, so that they are not the ones suffering prejudice and racism. I take the existence of this kind of pamphlet as proof that the risk of that happening is real, and it can't simply be ignored by ANY administration... GOP or Democrat.

The pamphlets were collected... and shredded. Wish I could do the same to the people who wrote them, but I'm a big supporter of the First Amendment, too.
