Addendum...

The link I placed in the last post is an EXCELLENT biography site for the 1st Airborne Division of the Royal Army, and if you are a fan of the movie A Bridge Too Far, then this is a must-read site. The details and insight are amazing, and show just how close to "real" the movie actually was.

Check it out... it isn't often (even in 1970) that you see this kind of detail included in a Hollywood production centered on war and combat.

I can't find the link you're talking about but, if you can post it to my Facebook page, I'd love to read it.

I loved the movie and it really showed how Monty's ego got in the way of sound military decisions. Not that he was alone in that, but this was a colossal blunder.

I would hate to see this movie redone. I can't imagine it being done any better than it was.

The link is: http://www.pegasusarchive.org/arnhem/john_frost.htm

From here you can navigate to all the major British (and German) players in Operation Market Garden. Frost's was especially good, though... the guy was every bit as tough as he looked in the movie.
