g-o-a-l !

Nothing symbolizes the invisible hand of the new world order encroaching upon the shores of America like ESPN airing World Cup games in prime time. What on earth will sports fans watch during the hours of 2am to 5am now? What I find humorous is while a grand 2% of the US population even knows we tied England 1-1 in first round play, there are surely scores of emergency calls emanating from bridges up and down the River Thames as Brits attempt to escape this national disgrace, minus a reserve chute if you get my drift.

On other fronts ... this headline moved my attention meter as I perused the web threads:

Saudi Arabia Gives Israel Clear Skies to Attack Iranian Nuclear Sites
“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”

Sources in Saudi Arabia say it is common knowledge within defence circles in the kingdom that an arrangement is in place if Israel decides to launch the raid. Despite the tension between the two governments, they share a mutual loathing of the regime in Tehran and a common fear of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing ..."

An airstrike would involve multiple waves of bombers, possibly crossing Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Aircraft attacking Bushehr, on the Gulf coast, could swing beneath Kuwait to strike from the southwest. Passing over Iraq would require at least tacit agreement to the raid from Washington. So far, the Obama Administration has refused to give its approval as it pursues a diplomatic solution to curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions."

You can read the entire article at the link above. Needless to say Tehran has less time then the Obama Administration seems willing to allow.

Now Jambo - I want to make you aware that traffic on 90 may be a bit congested today. The Commander-in-Chief will be in Gulfport, MS. If he agrees to part the Gulf and walk in an oiled Pelican by hand, I would certainly appreciate any video footage you could supply for use on the Bund.

You know, I don't blame Obama for the leak itself anymore then one can blame Bush for Katrina - an unprecedented catastrophe occured, and the best they can do is use their executive authority to cut through red tape for the people repsonding on the ground, because ultimately the only one you can depend on is yourself, and to a degree the boundless charity of the American neighbor - be they from across the street or across state lines. But do you know who the big loser is in this entire debacle, in my estimation? Obama's ideology. We needn't bother with hot button words like communism, socialism, progressive, etc to learn the lesson this oil spill provides. Suffice it to say President Obama has a "government-centric" philosophy towards economics, health care, financial institutions and more - he wants to be the great "evener" between the "haves" and the "have nots" no matter the cost to individual liberty. He clearly believes that government must engage on unprecedented levels in order to ensure every facet of the individual's life from the simple to the complex be "fair." Yet he can't plug one leak. The leak has its' own live camera web site. It spews unabated. And the most powerful man in the world, who built his career espousing the idea that government can act as a solution to the country's most mammoth of problems, looks helpless. Frustrated. Ineffective. This vividly reveals how bureaucratic, lumbering, unresponsive, inept and flat out incapable government typically is outside of very few areas. If I'm running in 2010 the message I pound home is a simple one - do you want the same people who can't plug the oil leak running your health care?

Seems like a winner to me.
