GOP in 2010

I have to side with Ryan on this one... Moderate Republican = Loser.

Here is a once in a generation moment where you can have both sides of the political spectrum sweep across the landscape. Carter/Reagan in 1980, Obama/ insert conservative here in 2012. Now is NOT the time for a moderate or "conservative light" candidate.

Paul Ryan should not be so quickly dismissed. He's young, 40, he's conservative, and he's not encumbered the way other conservatives on our short list are. And let's face it. He stands up and plays "This is who I am" to Obama's "This is what went wrong and who's at fault!" game and his chances are suddenly way better than good. Think of him as an intelligent Dan Quayle. All the benefits of a Midwestern conservative without the humorous yet painful drawbacks.

And seriously, when was the last Catholic that stood a chance in a Presidential election that WASN'T a Democrat from a prominent family in Massachusetts?
