First off I misspelled "gall", yes. But I fully intended "unhesitating."
Beyond that I was simply inquiring, in terms of national defense, whether when we gained our current "sensibilities", those which would clearly preclude the WWII US internment camps etc from ever reocurring, did we lose something as well? Im not advocating a return to those times, nor suggesting a justification. Im simply asking if there was a cost to our current notions of what's no longer "acceptable?" A cost that while gladly paid (in order to advance civilized notions of human rights) may have included an unintended expense - our inability to face down true, unyielding, non negotiable evil bent on our literal destruction.
