But you don't have to look far to see that the North Koreans are getting a lot of press time with their bitching and whining about the joint exercise.
I know there is still a lot of fuss about whether or not the NKs sank that ROK ship a couple of months back, and perhaps that is adding to the coverage of NK's fussing about the exercises, but none of the manuvers are happening within even 100 miles of the NK border... so where is the fuss? Why all the saber rattling? Does NK suspend military training in the name of "peace and security" or do they schedule it for that very reason?
So, unless the Chinese are exporting this new missile to NK, I'd say it isn't an issue at all. There is no navy on the waves better prepared for a surface-to-surface engagement (or air-to-surface, for that matter) than the US Navy, and since there isn't a "state-of-the-art" submarine in their fleet (all are decommissioned Soviet "Whiskey-class" or Chinese "Romeo-class" boats with at least 25 years of service already under their belts and mountains of tracking, performance and observation data already on the books), I'm not all that concerned about the prospect of NK actually attacking our ships this month.
As for the hyperlink stuff... just highlight the text you want to make the link, click on the little green globe with the "links" superimposed on the Blogger toolbar (just to the right of bold, italic, and text color), and cut and paste the address of the site you want to link to in the box that pops up. Not hard at all... even Ryan can do it now.
