Say what you want...

... but Superbowl XLV was one of the best games played in the last decade.

I worked through all of the first half (luckily, there were TVs everywhere at the casino), and had to drive home without a radio broadcast most of the way (my carpool buddy didn't turn on the game), but once I was home I watched the last minutes of the third quarter and all the fourth with Cramey, and we agreed that this was a match up between the two best teams in the NFL for 2010.

That being said, I say this was a GREAT Superbowl because I am a Packer fan to the very core of my being, and I am utterly convinced that, should these teams meet again ten times in a row to play the same game, the result would be the same. The Packers were simply the best team in football, and the best team won the game.

The Packers worked as a team from start to finish, and with some of the most important tools out with injuries early (Woodson and Shields were two of their three best corners) the change that was forced on the defense in the second half was clutch to the win... and they did it nearly flawlessly. Yes, there were some dropped passes and a lot of penalties that probably could have been avoided... but the core plays and coordination that was needed was there the whole game. The Steelers couldn't do that last night, and the results are obvious today.

I'm damn proud of those boys... they brought the trophy home to Titletown, USA again where it belongs. Go Pack!
