To mention that my "bashing brains out" comment was more geared to the EXCHANGE between Titus and Ryan, and not any specific individual. It was not intended to be dismissive of the Fairness Doctrine nor what it would/would not do to the fabric of the Republic. These are valid points, valid concerns. While my accuracy as to how it concerns Joe Schmoe is without question, how it concerns the entire nation is something else and not something to be brushed aside.
Odd, isn't it? By the letter of the Constitution as originally written, only land owners could vote, and population was determined in slave states by the 3/5th rule, 5 slaves equalling 3 citizens for a general census count in determining House of Representative numbers. So when all was said and done, a third of the general public was actively involved in determining the course of action for the Republic.
Fast forward 200+ years, literally millions of lives spent defending freedom and molding this nation, and of their own free will nearly 2/3 of our population chooses NOT to be involved in the affairs of the Republic.
It never ceases to amaze me how RIGHT ON the Founding Fathers were.
