That little girl that died in the AZ shooting spree was born on 9/11/01. Born amidst some of the greatest turmoil the nation has ever seen... and she died during one of the worst murder rampages only 9 years later. Absolute tragedy... and mind-numbingly unnecessary, as well.
One more thing on this topic:
Obama gave a speech last Thursday about the shooting and the political fighting since, and I only just last night heard the whole thing. I think it was the best speech the man has given as President yet... very nearly flawless and superbly delivered. That speech should be the one that conservatives use to counter any further contentions by the left that traditional, conservative calls for GOP efforts are the root of the tragedy rather than the actions and intentions of one of the most twisted individuals to commit such a crime since Mark Chapman or John Hinkley. What little reasoning that can be determined to lie behind this looney's actions is as bent as a wire coat hanger.
I can't find the speech online, but I haven't had that much time to look either. If any of you find it... listen. Its a good speech. No liberal crap, no partisan BS... just rational, reasonable calls for an introspective look into the rhetoric that is being thrown about and is detracting from the nation's need and ability to address the tragedy as it deserves.
Well done, Mr. President... you won't hear me say that often, but I'm saying it now.
